Passive LCD with touch integrated solution (Incell)
BOE has recently introduced a passive LCD solution with touch integration (Incell). This Incell touch solution is ideal for applications using a passive LCD display (TH or IBN based). The integrated solution reduces costs of the display. Typical applications will be control units manufactured in volume.

- Single chip LCD controller and driver, and touch controller
- Supports max. 4 COM x 40 SEG
- Supporst max. 16 touch buttons
- Supports touch slide/scroll bars, wheels
- Supports up to 1/4 duty and 1/3 bias
- Internal LCD bias generation (no external components required)
- Output 9V LCD voltage
- Wide operating temperature: -40°C to 85°C
- I2C or SPI interface
- Wide supply voltage range: 2.7V to 5.5V
- Supports thick coverlens: 4mm glass; 3mm plastics
- Supports airgap between coverlens & LCD/touchscreen
Advantages
The Incell touch solution combines the normally separate LCD display and touch layer. This gives the display a number of advantages:
- It is a one chip solution
- The FPC is simplified
- There is no need for lamination
- Easy system integration
